  • Planters began production in Fort Smith in 1975 and has enjoyed a record of growth and improvement. Over 100 different products are produced at Fort Smith in peanut and tree nut blends from small convenience store packaging to large club store containers.

  • Planters-Fort Smith has approximately 350 Employees Non-Union, Full Time Employees, as well as Third Party Warehouse and Production employees and contractors.

  • 4 Shifts for 24/7 Operation: 12 Hour Shifts (A/B/C/D) Mon-Wed or Thurs-Sat crews alternate Sundays 36/48 pattern.

Job Overview:



Responsibilities & Duties:



  • Ensure safe work environment for self and others by complying with all safety rules, requirements, and programs. Suggestions to improve safety of the facility and personnel are encouraged.

  • Accountable for Quality standards of your product by supporting all Quality programs and complying with all policies, HACCP, and GMP/Food Safety requirements.

  • Effectively operate all current and future equipment for packaging equipment, support equipment, and work to move up to Advanced Machine Operator.

  • Achieve expected performance results on all equipment operated per reported data from the production reporting systems.

  • Complete sanitation responsibilities in a timely manner for equipment necessary to provide an allergen free set-up and changeover.

  • Perform machine changeovers with the use of tools.

  • Attend to machine breakdowns, identify necessary resources to repair, and assist in troubleshooting to bring equipment back to operable condition.

  • Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks on equipment, assist maintenance with repairs.

  • Operate computers or computerized operator interface to make critical machine adjustments.

  • Input data into the production report database application and issue reports using e-mail as needed.

  • Utilize all support equipment necessary to perform housekeeping and work: forklift, hand lift, sanitation equipment



Qualifications:



  • 2 Years of Manufacturing Experience-prefer some equipment operation experience.

  • Able to Operate Computers & Computerized equipment for machine operation, quality, safety and compliance testing and training.

  • Desire to act as an Owner and participate in the success of the business.

  • Communicate with co-workers face to face, by telephone, and electronic communications.

  • Able to read and write in English due to necessary quality documents.

  • Possess manual dexterity necessary to operate equipment, disassemble, and reassemble equipment, operate a computer and other standard office equipment.

  • Vision adequate to manipulate equipment controls, complete paperwork, utilize computers, and have depth perception.

  • Complete training for Powered Industrial Trucks, LOTO, Confined Space Entry and Fall Protection usage.

  • Lift up to 50 lbs. independently and heavier weights with assistance.

  • Walk, Sit, Stand for duration of 12 -hour shift with regular breaks

  • Wear all Required Personal Protective Equipment, PPE, to perform job tasks

  • Climb stairs, steps, and ladders, as well as work at heights on equipment, platforms, and walkways.

  • Perform bending, squatting, kneeling, leaning, and reaching at both ground level and overhead.

  • Able to work in extreme temperature variations (hot/cold environments) for duration of 12-hours shift with regular breaks.
