We are looking to hire a facility Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Valley Behavioral Health in Barling, AR. The CFO is an integral part of the senior leadership team and is expected to participate in the financial and functional decision?making processes necessary for the successful attainment of the facilitys operational and financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures that monthly financial statements are completed timely and accurately.
  • Reconciles all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis and identifies and corrects any outstanding variances.
  • Prepares all corporate required reports such as the Monthly Operating Report, Monthly Certifications, Corporate Disclosures, and Forecasts timely and accurately.
  • Maintains accounting and business office policies and required internal controls to facilitate a clean audit with no material audit adjustments or deficiencies.
  • Directs the operations of the Revenue Cycle to ensure timely collection and minimal uncompensated care. Strives to achieve cash collection goals, improve AR days, and reduce bad debt and denials.
  • Ensures Front End Revenue Cycle processes are in place, including 100% insurance verification, proper patient portion determination, discount or charity approval, and upfront collections logging.
  • Maintains knowledge of federal, state, and managed care reimbursement methodologies to ensure accurate facility payment and to record revenue deductions accurately. Facilitates preparation of required cost reports.
  • Supervises Accounting, Patient Accounting, Health Information Management, Materials Management, and other departments assigned by the CEO, ensuring adequate staffing and training.
  • Ensures compliance with Group Purchasing contracts and monitors purchases to keep supply costs within budgeted levels.
  • Prepares the annual operating budget, participates in the strategic planning process, provides variance analysis, and assists the CEO in implementing changes to achieve budget goals.
  • Prepares the annual capital budget and Capital Equipment Requests, ensuring accurate asset and depreciation recording in compliance with company policies.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or a business?related field with a major in Accounting.
  • Minimum 3 years successful CFO experience in a healthcare setting (behavioral healthcare preferred).
  • Previous experience with a proprietary healthcare system preferred.
  • CPA or Masters degree a plus.
  • Proven financial analysis skills.
  • Experience working with information technology and proficiency with software packages including Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem?solving ability.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with facility staff, physicians, and corporate staff.
  • Leadership with a high degree of emotional intelligence and ethics.
